Terms of Service
These terms ("Terms") govern your use of pacechat ("the Service"), operated by pacechat ("we", "us"). By creating an account or connecting a data provider you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
pacechat is an analytics and chat interface for your endurance-sports data. You connect your Strava account; we fetch your activities, compute derived metrics, and let you query your training history through a chat UI and through an MCP server. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
2. Your account
- You must be old enough to enter a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure.
- You must provide accurate information and may only use the Service for your own training data. Do not create accounts on behalf of other people.
3. Strava and third-party services
pacechat is independent from Strava. We are not endorsed, sponsored, or certified by Strava, Inc. Use of Strava data through pacechat is subject to Strava's API Agreement and Strava's Privacy Policy. Nothing in these Terms gives you rights against Strava that the Strava API Agreement does not already grant you, and these Terms do not override that Agreement. If there is a conflict between these Terms and the Strava API Agreement with respect to Strava data, the Strava API Agreement prevails.
Activities recorded on a Garmin device retain Garmin attribution where we display them.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to scrape or republish Strava data belonging to other users.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, authentication, or other technical measures.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract source code from the Service.
- Use the Service to train machine-learning models or to build competing analytics products.
- Upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful.
- Use the Service in a way that would breach Strava's API Agreement, Strava's Terms of Service, or any applicable law.
5. Your data
You retain all rights to the training data you bring to pacechat. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display that data solely to operate the Service for you. Our handling of your personal data is described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Fees
The Service is currently offered free of charge. We may introduce paid plans in the future and will give reasonable notice before any charge applies to your account. In line with the Strava API Agreement, we do not charge for access to Strava data itself.
7. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from Settings → Privacy & data. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if continued operation becomes commercially or technically unfeasible. On termination we delete your data on the schedule set out in the Privacy Policy.
8. Warranties and liability
The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the analytics produced by pacechat are free from error, nor that they are suitable for any particular purpose, including training decisions or medical decisions. Consult a qualified coach or medical professional where appropriate.
To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the fees (if any) you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. For material changes we will notify you in-app before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept them.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Exclusive venue for disputes is the competent court at our registered seat, unless mandatory consumer-protection rules give you access to another forum.
